Born in Scranton, S.C. in 1913. Citadel Class of 1934. Brigadier General, U.M.S.C. Earned an M.S. degree from the University of Kentucky in 1936 and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1949. Taught physics at The Citadel from 1936-1942, and 1946-1979. In 1953, he was the head of the Physics deparment. In 1966, he was academic dean. From 1970 to 1979, Dr. Anderson served as Vice President for Academic Affairs, the number two man on campus. (Source: Marquis Who's Who, 2007) (HN & EC)
