In 1991, 19,207 spectators saw the game with North Carolina which North Carolina won, 118-50. No other Citadel game had more spectators. The game took place in Chapel Hill, NC.

In 1958 the U.S. Rubber Company named The Citadel as the Most Improved Basketball Team in the Country.

In 1965, The Citadel basketball team was named the Cardiac Cadets because eight games were won by three or fewer points.

In 1920, The Citadel had its only undefeated season (11-0). What is even more remarkable was that The Citadel yielded only 56 field goals for all eleven games. The first game was against the Ashley Athletic Club which The Citadel won 54-4.

In 1918, because of a quarantine related to the influenza epidemic, only one game was played. The Citadel lost to the College of Charleston, 48-15.
