Some 1500 graduates were on active duty during the Korean Conflict, 450 of whom were in combat. Thirty-two of these gave their lives. Virtually all graduates on active duty have been commissioned officers. The first graduate killed in Korea was Wesley Hartwell Johnson, class of 1948. He was killed on July 27, 1950.
